The Kansas City Chiefs’ earlier attack on Willie Roaf let everyone know exactly who he thought America’s team was.
Look away from Dallas Cowboys fans. You certainly won’t like what Willie Roaf had to say in an interview with FanSided’s Mark Carman. The massive lineman is a standout former Kansas City Chiefs and couldn’t be happier with the way the team looks.
After winning the Super Bowl last season, the Chiefs are ready to compete as they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady this Sunday with the Lombardi Trophy. Regardless of the outcome, Roaf came out saying the Chiefs are no question “America’s team”.
Willie Roaf calling the Chiefs America team is sure to make the Cowboys fans mad
“This is a level Kansas City has never been to,” said Roaf. “Kansas City is America’s team now. Kansas City has grown from a team with a small market to a team for America with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek (Hill), (Travis) Kelce and all these people. I look forward to meeting you.
“I’m glad you have another chance to go out and play (in the Super Bowl). These are the young guns. I think the pressure is on Brady because Brady wants to win another and he did it in his freshman year in Tampa. “
While Roaf may be a bit biased after four incredible years with the Chiefs from 2002 to 2005, two first-team All-Pros, there’s no denying that Kansas City is currently playing at the elite level. With Mahomes at the center, the offense was virtually unstoppable throughout the campaign.
Next Sunday we will find out if the Chiefs have what it takes to repeat themselves as champions. If they do, Roaf could very well double his American team’s comments.
