Top Chinese contender Fanbo Zeng joins G League Ignite on a one-year contract.
Zeng averaged 15.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.1 assists in his sophomore year at Windermere Prep in Florida – but returned to China due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zeng, although originally classified as a high school senior, has completed his coursework and is eligible to compete in the 2022 NBA draft, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
This season, ESPN’s G League Ignite will feature # 3 contender Jaden Hardy from 2022, # 15 contender Dyson Daniels, # 31 contender Michael Foster, # 53 contender MarJon Beauchamp and 2023 top Contender Scoot Henderson will be represented.
Last season, three Ignite players were selected in the NBA draft: Jalen Green (# 2 overall), Jonathan Kuminga (# 7 overall) and Isaiah Todd (# 31) overall.
Ignite may be sending even more players to the NBA this season.
