Arsenal don’t seem to be in the running for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this month, but they could have the perfect opportunity this summer.
The Gunners have been regularly linked to a move for the French during this and the final window, particularly with talk over the past few weeks that Edouard could leave for a £ 35 million cut fee, with Celtic previously quoting a much higher number .
The 23-year-old only has a year and a half left on his contract, and it has been suggested that Celtic will have to let him go cheaply – relatively speaking – in order not to lose him for free 12 months later.
But it seems that no such deal is on the table. Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirms that interest in his star striker hasn’t exactly sparked this month.

“There were no offers for him, there was no speculation about this window, there was no interest in him at all, especially this window,” said Lennon, as quoted by the Glasgow Times.
Arsenal’s move to Edouard, if there is one, should wait until the summer anyway, with the Gunners prioritizing a creative midfielder and a left-back in that window.
Martin Odegaard has filled that initial void and it is believed that Mikel Arteta and Edu are actively looking for a left-back to support and challenge Kieran Tierney.
Arsenal’s recent resurgence suggests a striker may not be high on his priority list but could be on the lookout for one this summer.

But if they’re interested in Edouard, this could be good news for the Gunners, as they know Edouard probably won’t be leaving this month anyway.
The Frenchman is also unlikely to sign a new deal with Parkhead, which will put Celtic in a difficult position before the summer when he could be forced to sell in order to collect a sizable fee for the 23-year-old who scored 44 goals has scored in 74 league games since arriving in 2018.
