With rumors of a possible deal sending Deshaun Watson to the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa could head to the NFC East.
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson. New details are quickly emerging on this potential deal, and one of them surrounds current Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
According to Coty Davis of the podcast Locked on Texans and The Texans Wire, the Dolphins would send former top-five pick Tagovailoa to the Washington Football team.
This would fill a huge void for the Washington franchise, which has been without recently acquired veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick since the first week of the season. It looks like Washington started Taylor Heinicke, who has led the team to a 2-4 record in six games. It has gotten to the point where Washington coach has to bring up Heinicke’s game to see if he’ll be put on the bench.
Washington could act against Tua Tagovailoa soon
Tagovailoa got off to a disappointing start to his NFL career in Miami. After joining the league with a serious hip injury, he has also sustained injuries in each of his first two seasons. There has to be a reason Miami is interested in acquiring Watson as part of a deal with Houston, despite Watson’s current off-field issues preventing him from playing in 2021. Many Tagovailoa fans hope that a change of scenery could work wonders for the talented young leftist.
This potential deal, sending Tagovailoa to Washington, will reunite him with former teammate Fitzpatrick. The youngster took over the bearded veteran in Miami last season and will now compete with him again should he be traded second in the NFC East.
