The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes avoided an outright coronavirus disaster horror late last week.
With the Super Bowl only days away, Kansas City Chiefs fans dream of the team winning the title for two consecutive years. However, the team was almost hit by a worst-case scenario that led to the big game.
It was revealed that more than 20 chiefs were due to get a haircut from a team barber on Sunday. However, this barber tested positive for the coronavirus and the team pulled the plug on all cuts as soon as they found out. Patrick Mahomes was among the players ready to get his cut from this barber.
Patrick Mahomes almost got a tight contract with a positive COVID-19 case
Imagine if Mahomes got his haircut as planned? Not only would he have run the risk of ingesting the virus, but he would have been viewed as “close contact” even if he had tested negative.
Such was the case for center Daniel Kilgore, who was reportedly in the middle of his haircut when the team found the barber had tested positive. Kilgore tested negative for the virus but is forced to stay at home for the rest of the week due to the rules. However, if he continues to test negative, he can return to the team on Saturday and play in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Think again if this was Mahomes. Here is your $ 502 million quarterback, and he was almost placed in a position where he might be at risk of playing in the Super Bowl due to a haircut. Chief’s fans have to thank their lucky stars for not putting Mahomes in danger.
In one incredibly weird year in the NFL, this latest Chiefs haircut drama only makes matters worse. Quality.
