Mete on his trade request
David Pagnotta: Montreal Canadiens Victor Mete (a few days ago) on his trade request.
“I’d rather not talk about the situation.”
“I don’t know what your (future) plans are. I’m here now and will work as hard as possible. “
Rumor roundup with Rangers, Flames, Penguins, Panthers, Hurricanes and Blackhawks
Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet: The New York Rangers made it clear they would keep the salary to move defense attorney Anthony DeAngelo. It won’t be easy for the Rangers to move DeAngelo. They are not currently considering terminating his contract and they may not be able to go that route unless DeAngelo agrees. A buyout would be a third of his $ 5.3 million since he’s still 25 years old.
Three reasons the Calgary Flames will be cautious in dealing with Sam Bennett.
- “Bennett was GM Brad Treliving’s first draft pick, so there’s a lot invested in him.
- Bennett’s production climbs into the playoffs, and he’s not shy about the kind of hockey that wins in the postseason. The flames know this and appreciate it.
- In previous cases there has been frustration between the player and the organization. “
The Pittsburgh Penguins are believed to have called the Montreal Canadiens over defenseman Victor Mete and the Toronto Maple Leafs over Travis Dermott. Canadians cannot take on additional salaries.
“New” names for the Penguins GM search are Joe Nieuwendyk and Jason Karmanos. The New Jersey Devils don’t want to interview Tom Fitzgerald.
A competing team might have some interest in Florida Panther’s Brett Connolly. He is expected to return to the Panthers lineup soon.
The cost of getting a goalkeeper is high, so the Carolina Hurricanes could stay the course for now.
I would guess the Chicago Blackhawks are one of the teams looking at goalkeeper Arvid Soderblom, who plays for Skelleftea in Sweden.
