Shark Duck Senators make a three team deal
San Jose Sharks: The Sharks traded defender Trevor Carrick for striker Jack Kopacka for Anaheim Ducks.
The Sharks then sent Kopacka and a selection for the seventh round in 2022 to the Ottawa Senators for Christian Jaros.
“Christian is a great right-back who plays a physical game,” said Wilson. “He is a young player with 76 NHL games and has the ability to expand his game.”

Rutherford resigns as Penguins GM
NHL.com: 71 year old GM Jim Rutherford of Pittsburgh Penguins resigned for personal reasons.
“It was a great honor to serve as general manager of the Penguins and to display two more Stanley Cup banners in the PPG Paints Arena,” said Rutherford. “I have so many people to thank, from the owners Ron Burkle and Mario Lemieux to team president David Morehouse. There was always so much support from everyone involved with the penguins, both the hockey and business people, and of course a special group of players led by Sidney Crosby. The fans here have been great for me and my family. I know it is a little unusual for this to happen during a season, but I just felt that this was the right time to step back. “
Pierre LeBrun: Rutherford said it wasn’t a health problem but he won’t say more.
“I don’t think it’s good for anyone. I’ve been treated first class here and I really appreciate and respect what they have done for me. That’s how I want to leave the penguins. “
Chris Johnston: Deputy GM Patrik Allvin will temporarily take over the post and is the first Swede to be an NHL GM.
Pierre LeBrun: The penguins start their search immediately. They’ll be conducting internal and external searches and don’t have a set time to hire their next GM. But you don’t want it to take too long.
