Howard is retiring
TSN: Goalkeeper Jimmy Howard retires from the NHL.
“Becoming an NHL goalkeeper was a childhood dream. After an incredible 14 years in the Red Wings organization, I decided to quit professional hockey and move on to the next chapter. It was the honor of my life to play and I am forever grateful to the fans, all members of the Red Wings organization, my teammates and my family for their continued support, loyalty and commitment.
As I enter this new chapter in my life, I look forward to spending more time with my family, coaching my son’s ice hockey team, and finding new opportunities for the future.
With gratitude, Jimmy Howard # 35 #WhatARide ”
