Tarasenko is still a long way off
Tom Timmermann from the St. Louis Post Dispatch: St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong on Vladimir Tarasenko.
“He’s on the ice, he’s running now,” said Armstrong. “The milestones you go through on this stuff, you have the surgery, you start rehab, you need to get back to the doctors doing the surgery to check off the next fence post in your rehab. All have now been ticked off so he’s on the ice, he’s conditioned, the shoulder is certainly not 100 percent right now, but at a point where the safety mechanisms are in place, we believe he can skate. He can get passes, make passes, shoot for a measure of his comfort. He is still far away. We won’t see him for a few weeks, but he’s on the right track. “
If Tarasenko is ready to step out of the LTIR, the Blues will have to take some steps to get back below the salary cap.
