Nashville SC partners with nonprofit 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee in February to raise funds for educational opportunities for black male youth. In honor of Black History Month, Nashville SC will also release a Special Edition patch that fans and supporters can purchase through February 28th on the club’s official website.
All proceeds from the purchase of the patch will benefit the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, who provide resources to promote the academic and social development of black male students in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area.
“We are excited to celebrate Black History Month and use this moment to support the work of the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee and their programs to help black male youth develop knowledge, skills and confidence that are necessary to be successful in life, “said Nashville’s Brandon Hill, Senior Director of Community Engagement, said in a press release Monday,” Our club and our league as a whole are committed to reducing the racial differences in the black community This month is a wonderful opportunity to further our commitment to that goal. “
The design on the memorial pavement combines Nashville SC’s signature gold “N” pattern with the historic green, red, and black of Black History Month, and represents the club’s commitment to its core value of including and supporting racial justice by recognizing the importance of the people black history and the contributions of African Americans. It is the first in a series of patches that Nashville SC will be releasing in conjunction with Soccer for All, the Major League Soccer platform, in 2021 to promote diversity and inclusion.
