Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has no regrets taking the ball away from Aaron Rodgers.
With the 2020 NFC championship game on the line, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur decided to score a chip-shot field goal with Mason Crosby from 26 meters away. This instead of going eight points down in 4th place on the Tampa Bay 8-yard line. With Aaron Rodgers.
It was a terrible idea right now, and it doesn’t get any better in the days since LaFleur’s mindless decision. He doubles his thought process to get eight points at home and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers only have minutes left before putting the ball in Aaron Rodgers’ hands. He doubted Rodger’s ability to give him three extra yards, which is absolutely absurd.
2016 Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl 51 NEVER Stank Leaves You!
Even if the Packers were unable to score an eight-point touchdown to fourth place to get off the eight-yard line in Tampa Bay, no one would question that decision-making process. It would mean LaFleur trusted the alleged 2020 NFL MVP to make the game of his life. This is a future Pro Football Hall of Famer with a Super Bowl trip on the line.
While LaFleur had great success in his first two years as Head of Packers in the regular season, his team has come up painfully short in consecutive NFC championship games. People forget he was Matt Ryan’s quarterbacks coach with the 2016 Atlanta Falcons, the team that took a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI. As sad as it may be, that festering stench never leaves you.
It was a terrible decision. Cheeseheads will not let LaFleur down under any circumstances.
