The Chicago Bulls’ Lauri Markkanen is in a contract season and will be looking for an important payday in the upcoming off-season. The 23-year-old had injury issues early in his career but was excellent in good health.
So far, the previous No. 7 in the 2017 NBA draft has averaged 20.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while .413 has been shot from a distance. In his last two games he has combined 61 points with consecutive performances of more than 30 points.
Zach LaVine was recently asked if he was surprised at Markkanen’s level of play recently. According to Darnell Mayberry from The AthleticLaVine is not at all surprised.
“I wouldn’t say surprisingly. I just think his hard work was worth it. We all know Lauri is extremely talented and we’re just watching his full game. “
After failing to agree on an extension with the Bulls ahead of the season, there is still a chance they could sign him on a long-term deal this off-season. Regardless of whether Markkanen is able to keep playing as he has been all season, there will be a long line of teams trying to get him offers.
