Looking at the Brooklyn Nets in the 2020-21 season, their defense was almost at the bottom of the league. Though things have gotten worse since the blockbuster deal with James Harden, Kevin Durant believes things could get better on this side of the ball.
While Harden is known for his offensive style and wins three straight titles, Durant considers him an underrated defender and could make a difference on defense.
Durant spoke to the New York Daily News’ Kristian Winfield of Harden’s defensive uptrend on Monday after beating the Clippers.
“If we ask him to protect someone, he can go out and do his job. I think that’s the underrated part of his game. “
Harden has shown throughout his career that he is a capable defender when he wants, especially in the post. If we see more of that this season and in the playoffs, Brooklyn will be hard to beat.
