The way we watch live sports has changed in the last 12 months, but now that’s changing for the better.
Understanding the frustration fans feel at not being able to see their team in the flesh, BT Sport has gone back to the boot room for the most immersive gaming experience ever. Starting this week, every BT Sport customer will be able to access their exciting Matchday Experience service for the first time via Apple and Android phones and tablets.
Here are just a few of the highlights:
1. Watch together A split-screen interface lets you enjoy live sports dramas while chatting with friends, family, and other supporters.
Create your own Watch Together rooms to invite up to three friends and celebrate and share frustrations together during the live action.
2. Matchday Live This feature allows you to access team lineups and formations through the Match Day Live feature while bringing them to life All the statistics you will ever need – and probably some you never even considered.
The AR works in real time while you watch the live action to provide a more immersive experience than ever before. Perfect for the age of free flowing football. The only thing you want to see statically is the four of the opponents when your star striker steals for the winner.
3. 360 degree cameras gives you the opportunity to choose different camera angles that are rarely seen in conventional broadcasts with fixed camera positions.
The Pinch and Zoom feature allows you to focus on your specific areas of interest to create the feeling of being on the ground, where your expert eye knows what’s happening outside the ball is often as important as what’s on it Ball happens.

It’s like being back in the stands, but without stanchions to obscure the view.
4th Stadium experience With the augmented reality function, spectators can take virtual stadium tours in a way that has never been offered to them on match days in selected stadiums.
Use an augmented reality door in the BT Sport app for exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences in the changing rooms, shelters, trophy rooms and tunnel areas.
5. Manager mode is perfect for those who love studying the tactics and phases of the game to find out what is going right – and sometimes wrong – for your side.
You have the option to add real-time graphics that have been enhanced as part of your on-field coverage. It includes a mini map that keeps track of all players’ locations, as well as player names, player speeds, and upcoming speed trackers that mark the path of the shots.
All five Matchday Experience features will be available around BT Sport 1’s Premier League games on Saturday lunchtime (Stadium Experience and Match Day Live around BT Sport’s Premier League games will be available on Android devices in due course) .

In addition, all five Matchday Experience features are now available for select weekday Premier League games, starting with BT Sport 1’s exclusive live coverage of Manchester United v Southampton on February 2nd and Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea on February 4th . In the meantime, Watch Together can be used by BT Sport customers for all programs broadcast on BT Sport’s four TV channels.
The availability of functions will increase in the coming season, for example Manager Mode will soon be available for selected UEFA Champions League matches on BT Sport. Selected Matchday experiences will also be available when BT Sport covers certain UEFA, Emirates FA Cup, Gallagher Premiership rugby and boxing matches. Wherever you want to watch, you will experience a matchday experience like never before.
