The Fred VanVleet legend continues to grow.
VanVleet has repeated the importance of “betting on yourself” over and over again.
Every year his numbers grow and so does his stocks as an NBA player. His exponential improvement culminated in the signing of a four year / $ 85 million extension before this season began.
Another chapter was added to the novel today – when VanVleet exploded by 54 points in a 123-108 win over Orlando Magic.
In doing so, he set a number of records:
- Toronto Raptors franchise single game record (above 52-point point set by Demar DeRozan in 2018).
- Most points in a single game from a player not drafted.
- First raptor to score 50 points in a street game.
- Franchise record for the most three-pointers in one half (8 in the first verse).
The old record holder DeRozan quickly congratulated VanVleet on his achievement.
Congratulations to my Brotha Freddy V! Kyle old ass couldn’t do it. I am glad you were champion! I told you!
