Everton beat Leeds United 2-1 in the Premier League on Elland Road on Wednesday night.
Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the Toffees a hard-earned win over Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Raphinha withdrew one for the home team in the second half.
The 24-year-old winger, who joined Leeds in the summer transfer window, has already made a big impact and was superb last night.
Leeds were brilliant in the second half as they pushed for an equalizer. Raphinha was just sensational and the goal line could have looked different if Leeds had taken their risk.
He terrorized the Everton defense throughout the game, and The Athletic’s Patrick Boyland hailed him as “a player”. Many Everton fans went to Twitter to share their admiration for the player:
He’s got quality – I love watching him play

He’s not brilliant. You will do well to hold on to him

Sign it in summer!

He would be fantastic on our right

Would have been a perfect signature for a winger situation. It’s a shame the finances weren’t there

Of all the summer signatures Leeds made, Raphinha has impressed the most.
Leeds paid about £ 17 million to sign it, and it already looks like a steal.
He’s gone fish to water in the new club and in the league and it’s really amazing how quickly the Brazilian got used to Bielsa’s system and methods.
Raphinha has already scored four goals this season and there is a lot to be done by him. He has a bright future and Leeds certainly made one of the newcomers of the season.
