TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: signing
CF Montreal have taken over the Norwegian international striker Björn Johnsen from the South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai, the club announced on Wednesday. Johnsen is under contract through 2022 with a club option for 2023.
Johnsen, 29, made 16 appearances with Norway. He was born in America before moving to Norway in his youth. He has spent his career as a globetrotter, performing for eight clubs in eight countries prior to Montreal.

“We are delighted to have acquired such a seasoned player with extensive experience in Europe and Asia,” said sporting director Olivier Renard in a statement from the club. “Bjørn is a tall and very mobile striker. He has shown that he can score goals in all the clubs he has played for in the past and in the Norwegian national team. “
The striker, who stood at a phenomenal 6’5 “, had 11 goals and two assists in 33 games for Ulsan Hyundai. He had his most successful 2017/18 season with ADO Den Haag with 19 goals in 34 games at Eredivisie.
Johnsen complements Montreal’s attack options, which already include Mason Toye, Romell Quioto and Sunusi Ibrahim.
