Here is your Arsenal morning breakdown for Thursday January 28th.
Torreira continues
Arsenal are said to be in talks with Monaco about a new loan deal for midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Torreira is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid but has barely played for the La Liga leaders which could lead to his being recalled by the Gunners this month.
Arsenal are keen to get another loan deal first and, according to AS, French club Monaco are in talks to take over the loan deal until the end of the season.
It is reported that Valencia have also shown interest but talks with Monaco are moving forward and it seems that this could be Uruguay’s most likely target.

Odegaard reveals Ceballos’ key role in the transfer
Arsenal signing Martin Odegaard has shown how Real Madrid team-mate Dani Ceballos convinced him to join the club.
Odegaard was confirmed as the Gunners’ last arrival today (Wednesday) after days of speculation. The Gunners signed the Norwegian international on loan until the end of the season.
It is believed that Odegaard has requested a temporary move from the Santiago Bernabeu after having played frugally for Los Blancos this season despite receiving a first-team tip this season.
That sparked interest from a number of clubs but Arsenal got their way thanks to a phone call from Mikel Arteta and a practical reference from Odegaard’s Real Madrid team-mate Ceballos, who is on loan at Emirates Stadium in his sophomore year.

“Yes, [Dani] Text me the other day and he had nothing but good things to say about the club, the manager and everything, “Odegaard announced on Arsenal’s official website.
“That was important to me too and he was happy that I came here. It was good for me to know someone here and also to hear from someone in the club. It’s good.”
Edouard update
Arsenal don’t seem to be in the running for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this month, but they could have the perfect opportunity this summer.
The Gunners have been regularly linked to a move for the French during this and the final window, particularly with talk over the past few weeks that Edouard could leave for a £ 35 million cut fee, with Celtic previously quoting a much higher number .
The 23-year-old only has a year and a half left on his contract, and it has been suggested that Celtic will have to let him go cheaply – relatively speaking – in order not to lose him for free 12 months later.

But it seems that no such deal is on the table. Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirms that interest in his star striker hasn’t exactly sparked this month.
“There were no offers for him, there was no speculation about this window, there was no interest in him at all, especially this window,” said Lennon, as quoted by the Glasgow Times.
With no interest in the striker this month, Arsenal could make a clean attempt to sign the Frenchman this summer if they only have 12 months left.
