It wasn’t a good night for Arsenal fans.
The trip to the Wolves started on a positive note, with the Gunners dominating the first half and rightly led by a goal from Nicolas Pepe.
However, that was all they had to show for their good performance and things went downhill quickly at halftime.
Not only did the Gunners concede a penalty, but after a lengthy VAR review, David Luiz was dismissed.
New Wolves frontman Willian Jose stepped on the wrong side of the Brazilian and hit the goal, with Luiz chasing him back. In a tangle of legs, Jose went down with an instant free kick.

Referee Craig Pawson tossed Luiz a red card despite minimal contact between the two players. The Arsenal defender just seemed to be running back to get back into position.
The double hazard rules state that a player can only be sent off and a penalty awarded if there is no real attempt to play the ball, which there was not, but it was a chance encounter and was widely viewed as a very tough call .
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “If you want to talk about the decision, I’ve just seen the replay ten times at five different angles and I can’t see any contact. I would like to see if VAR is at different angles.
“If there is any contact, it is with David. Again, I don’t know if you have a different perspective than you or you. This is where the disappointment comes from. It’s hard enough to win football games in the league and in these . ” Big decisions are like that, but we can’t change anything right now. “
And Arsenal fans on Reddit have pointed to an incident involving Paul Pogba from last season as the reason behind Luiz’s decision being overturned.
Brighton initially received a penalty against Manchester United after Aaron Connolly fell into the box under the challenge of Pogba who was running behind him.
However, after a long review, the decision was overturned.
